I feel that i may be the odd one out as i am dealing with a special child . My son was diagonised as having autistic features and is undergoing only special education . I have checked with special school but was told there are no special schools in Canada the regular schools have a branch dealing with special schools.
Can anybody throw light on the type of education a child with special needs have especially child with autism. If you cannot answar but give me few leads by exploring ( as i am in India completed Medicals and awaiting visa due to leave shortly with family) . I would be greateful to all of you.
The disability is AUTISM and difinitely needs special attention. He cannot be integrated into regular schools as he has not developed speech.

Hi,
Since you have not mentioned where you would be landing in Canada it is difficult to find out as education is a provincial issue. I am pasting a link to Ontario Government Site which might be helpful to you. As far as I think there are no separate schools for 'special needs' children but this site may guide you in right direction.

Currently the Ontario govt does not provide treatment for autistic children over the age of 6. This link should help you find more about autism in Canada.
