Ask for wheel chair assistance, in case you are worried about your mom's transit and her ability to be on her own.
As far as company is concerned , there are high chances that there will be more than one person in the plane plus some of them will be of your mom's age. Last time I was stuck in London for 2 days due to miss out of connecting flight, I observed there were many old age people on their own being helped by either airline staff or fellow passengers like me.
Hope this info may ease out some stress...

Hello Everyone,

I wish to go to India (Mumbai) in last week of March or 1st week of April 2015 from Toronto... I have two infants(twins) and as per all airlines rule one adult can't travel with two infants.. So I am looking for someone to travel with.. ..

I just need a companion to show airline that 1 adult to 1 infant ratio is maintained if I can find someone who is traveling in these dates..

Coming back from India is not a problem

Any help/Suggestions are greatly appreciated in getting travel companion..

Tickets are not booked yet so I am flexible in dates and airline as per companion convenience

It is not just airlines rules ... are you aware that infants are not allocated any seats and they have to be on their parent/guardian's lap with seat belt on them during take off and landing. At other times you can request a bassinet but there is guarantee you will get it or infants will like it or stay in that.

Ask the airline ,what it will do in such cases.

It shouldn;t be that when you report for check in they say that this is not allowed. (you can always find someone to help you inside the plane, but then there are rules for the airlines to let you in)

Know everything before hand and do not get any surprises on the day of boarding.
