Once you get OCI , don't bother getting it re issued just for the sake of change of address, profession etc.

They don't care about these things.

Only get it re issued when its mandatory , like upto the age of 20 when a new PP is issued for kid or after 50, when you have to apply for it just once due to change in face.

I was applying for my 2 kids so though we can update info in our OCI card as well,

will never apply again-unless it is mandatory.

BLS is out of control-emplyee dont knw what they doing-they keep transfering call to each other-noone seems know the answer

Can we have this conversation only in one post? We have two going, and it's confusing to follow the going ons. I am interested to see how your respective cases go, as I have to submit in Surrey my wife's and son's OCI application in about 2 months.

Let's share the notes.

Also, isn't it beneficial now to apply for PIO instead of OCI as both have the same advantages? PIO is lifelong now with no 'haazari' every 6 months or so. What are the advantages of OCI over PIO still?

Agree - someone please merge other thread with thisone or thisone with other as it will be easy to navigate process of these 2 cases.

Typical Gov. Employee attitude. They have a monopoly & no competition , so they can do anything they want withou consequences.
