Hi!

I felt so happy when the category 4011 (University Professors and Lecturers) was introduced in NOC. But soon, I got so much confused about this.

I work as an Assistant Professor in a private engineering college in India. This is a college/technical institute which is affiliated to a government university, i.e. students are given university degrees.
I would like to know if I can apply under NOC 4011 (University Professors and Lecturers)?

Different immigration agents give me different answers. I don't want to take a risk without being completely sure about this.

Sharma ji
What is the Risk in applying ? ? 2014 will be last year when first come first serve basis immigration in Canada will be done, Thereafter in matter of demand and supply, you cannot be sure if you will be called. not applying is the risk.

cic.gc.ca is the best immigration consultant. Have you consulted 'it' ?

Dear full house and san hugo

Thanks for the reply. I went through the links you provided.
According to these links, College and other vocational instructors (4021), which is mentioned under exclusions seems more appropriate for my occupation.
Isn't it?

I think you are right , 4011 is purely for professors & lecturers teaching in university.

In link below stats Canada provided more than 100 examples of 4011 category and each example is suffixed with word "university" . You may not qualify.

All the best for your future.

Are you really serious to migrate to Canada. If you are, then spend a few bucks. Do not use any Consultants. Just the fees to get in. You will be thrilled to get in and also get a suitable post ANYWHERE, to get you started.

Here in Canada, the teachers work 5 days a week. TEN months in a year. Retire with good pensions. Salaries are way above PAR. Once you are in you can choose to do anything.

Good Luck.

Of course I'm serious about migrating to Canada.

But here you both (full house and san-hugo) have different views.

I think it's better to apply directly instead of any consultants, but isn't it important to make sure whether I fall under 4011 categoryor not?
