Just an update to my prior post.
After a year of writing and re-writing, and then some more of re-writing, copy editing, etc., I finally published my fiction first thing this year. It's available on Amazon as both kindle and paperback edition (to avoid the appearance of advertising in this forum, I will not reveal the book title and other details).
Regardless of what happens next, I can't explain the immense self-satisfaction I have achieved by the completion of my project 
Anyway, I have started writing a children's book series at the behest of my seven year old. He is providing character and plots. I am hoping to get that out in a shorter period of time than one year.

Many congratualations! Very happy for you, and that you achieved what you aspired for. I am looking forward to read it.
I am still working on the casting and story; and not anticipating it before 2015-16, especially due to the lack of time after my son was born one and half years ago
. He is my book for now, and gets all the attention I have. Couldn't complain though.Will keep you abreast of the progress.

Thank you for your kind words.
Spend time with your son. It's priceless, although kids get to be a PITA as they grow up to five, six, seven
.... drama, politics, manipulation, etc Self-publishing has opened up the doors for aspiring writers, although it has flooded the market with millions. So, getting the necessary exposure is extremely challenging.
Few of my closest acquaintances have purchased my book and I'm marketing through giveaway raffle on Goodreads.com.
In any case, I am not quitting my day job ha ha ha
