Looking for advise on super visa for my father for whom i need to get insurance.

searched in Classifieds and with keywords , got some good information, but filling it out of date, hence Posting new post.

- Age 70

- can anyone suggest where to get lowest quote
- once got visa, for any reason, if decided not to visit Canada, how much it would cost to cancel it
- or what will be charges for cancellation if decided to leave early
- or to save money , can i reduce the coverage amount from 100k to less

Based on my recent experience, i will try to answer all your questions. Father aged 75, I paid $730 for my heart patient father for his 3 months stay for 50 k coverage.

can anyone suggest where to get lowest quote --------> Call attleast 10 people who advertise on desi news paper, they will end up giving you approximately same premium rates +/- 10-20%. Some offer 10% , some offer 20% discount, can send you check once you give your credit card number

- once got visa, for any reason, if decided not to visit Canada, how much it would cost to cancel it ----------> you do not need to buy earlier, Once their arrival date is fixed you can buy insurance over phone and that takes only 5 mins (Usally spending money does nt take too long BUT earning money does.......kidding)

- or what will be charges for cancellation if decided to leave early----------> You can get refund for remaining days only if there are 45 days left and only if there in no claim. So i think there are few chances that you will get some pennies back

- or to save money , can i reduce the coverage amount from 100k to less------ your premium rates go down as you reduce your coverage. You decide what coverage you wants depending your parents health

If a visitor needs to do a heart treatment and do not have medical insurance, their sponsors will go bankrupt for sure..

You would have to compare among all the companies in Canada the best way to do it is to go online and see rate calculator:

Usually you can cancel without an fees within 10 days or if you come to Canada, and after some time decide to go back to home country you can easily cancel by providing the proof of your return tickets.

For Super Visa, the amount of coverage should be at least 100K as required by Canada Immigration.

For Visitors to Canada insurance it can be much less, depends on what you want. Just make sure that your insurance policy suits your needs.
