I plan to drive down to Orlando, Florida.
I've already made accommodation booking thru bookit.com.
I find that the distance is 2100 Kms one way.
I plan to leave this Saturday morning and drive with the break on Saturday nite.
My hotel checking is on Sunday 4 PM.
Should I plan my break at NC or SC.
Any pointers, speed traps, tolls ( amounts) and practical experiences to share ?.
Advance thanks and regards.

Two small tips..
Taking break as often as possible to save the automatic transmission. Transmission oil heats up quick.
Charleston, SC is an option..

The cowards never started,
The weak died on the way,
Only the strong arrived.

Thanks and what would be a typical wayside motel cost around that area for a family of 4 ?.
Right now it costs me around $75 CAD per nite at Orlando, Fla.

Left Mississauga at 7.45 AM today. Reached North Carolina at 7.45 PM.
Drove straight thru lewiston bridge where all the Desi's were pulled out and checked for fruits, rice, vegetables and other items. We were told that if anything was found it would attract a $350 fine.
It was a small Gujarati Sammelan. Most of the Desi's pulled up were Gujjus.
Drove straight thru the state of NY, PENNSYLVANIA, WEST VIRGINIA, VIRGINIA and just entered NORTH CAROLINA. About 1100 Kms done by 12 hours. This includes about one hour of breaks including US customs check at the border.
Averaging about 100 Km/HR. Could have done better if not for West Virgina HWY running through traffic lites. Paid about $6.25 toll till now.
The worst segment was West Virginia where the state itself was a speed trap.
They have 3 signs posted which confuses the he'll out of you. There is one of 65 Miles phr then flashing lights at every traffic lite of 55 Miles phr which is coupled with road work signs of speed of 50 Miles phi
The cops were pulling plenty of Canadian cars for tickets.
Just pulled into Comfort Inn, Jonesville, NC for overnite stay at $ 90 bucks + tax.
Another 1000 Kms to go to Orlando, Fla.
More updates to follow.............

Left NC at 8.45 AM crossed through SC, GEORGIA and reached Orlando at 6.45 PM.
WE did another 1000 Kms in 10 hours averaging at 100 Km phr.
Thanks to GPS we could navigate through quick/fast intersections were we had to shift lanes fast.
Even though I had upgraded the maps to 2013 some locations in GA, FLA had speed limits of 70 miles phr the GPS shows a lower speed.
We stopped at all state welcome centers on border and freshened up, collected maps and also hotel info and coupons.
THe stretch of NC, SC and Georgia were all Bible belt.
I fueled at Mississauga before start at $1.301 per liter, while in US it was all along $ 3.399 to $ $3.799 per gallon.
Many stations I chose to prepay at the cashier $50 on my credit card and fill up as I had read on the Internet
about possible problems, misuse of credit card when hand it over to the attendant while refueling.
I also did not attempt to swipe the card in the pump due to stuff I had read on Internet.
I also had informed my credit card banks about this trip and if not there was a chance of the card being cancelled on suspicion of misuse by the bank.
I fueled in Mississauga at CAD $1.30 per liter and did 2 more times once at WV and SC. I paid about US $ 1.00 per liter.
Total gas cost was roughly $ 175 for one leg assuming CAD =USD.
