This all new movies songs are most of them are useless, meaningless and worst to see with family at all.

yesterday we watched movie Agnipath and song came "Chikni chameli pauva chadha ke aayi" My 10 yrs old asked me what is meaning of this song and what is meaning of "pauva" ?

we both don't have answer at all...Literally we stoped to watch movie and divert his mind to somewhere else..

see the list below for new songs.

Chhamak chhalo....Ra-one
Chikni chameli pavua chadha ke aayi - Agnipath
Sheila ki Jawani - Tees mar khan
Munni Banam Hui....Dabaang.
Jalebi Bai....Double Dhammal.

IMO, atleast old songs on late 1970 until 2000 songs was still ok to listen, but now a days this songs are taking whole nation and society on totally different direction......

No match for old songs. There's no repeat value for present days' songs. Even good songs these days won't last for a few listens. Pick any old songs, and you will keep on humming it all the day long. There's a reason they lasted for so many years, and still going strong. That too, without any technological advancements in music during those days.

I truly believe they lost it after Laxmi-Pyare and Bappi Da stopped directing the music. That was the last best crop. God save us from the current breed of self stylized music gurus, including the ARR.

In terms of music, I believe the best that happened in our times is Jagjit Singh. Noone even comes close.

This might be something surprising but take a back seat and make or confirm this observation.

We tend to retain the music we grew up in our teenage years.

My grand dad who was born in 1903 and he never could appreciate film music as there was no recorded music in 1910 - 1920.

My father born in 1930 who grew up with K.L.Saigal did not appreciate Kishore Kumar or Rafi.

I born a few decades grew up with RD, Kishore, Rafi and Illaiyaraja.

My children Do not understand even ARR but love Korean, Lady Gaga and do not appreciate Indian film music.

They say that all Indian songs sound the same.

This is irrespective of whether it was 1930, 1970, 1990 or today.

They always try to identify the original English track where the Indian film song today has copied from.

Hence this taste is all relative.

I love Kishore Kumar and RD but cannot stand Lakshmikant or Kumar Sanu.

But music which was a like speciality restaurant has become a fast food joint.

Why was ARR so popular because he made jingles and he knew that he has to catch you attention with in the first 5 seconds of the song intro, while a song was for 8 to 10 minutes in olden days.

We need to adapt if not our children and grandchildren will think that we are not cool.

Chillax !.
