my dad works in Dubai.....I have my sis back in India - how do i prove strong ties n reason for her to get back? please help??
Hi Hamzay,
One of my friends was in the same situation, where they didn't show any proof of funds for her Mom in india. She got VISA and she is in Toronto now.
I invited my in-laws during 2010, my father-in-law showed his bank statements and house (as property) while applying for the VISITOR VISA.
I think it varies from case to case.
I heard that if there is no chance of providing Proof of Funds we could book return ticket as well in advance and apply along with VISA application. As per my understanding Immigration ppl are asking for Proof of funds to make sure that the visitor leaves Canada promptly.
All the Best..
Just one question on visitor visa, if I wish to call my parents in Canada on visitor visa (not on super visa), Do I also need to submit my income details?

Everything varies from case to case. In both my parents' case (where my dad was earning) and mother-in-law (non-earning widow), we never sent any proof of funds or our income. Just a plain old generic invitation letter. Both have successfully obtained visas multiple times.

So for older regular visitor visa application for your family back home, there is no requirement for having to show travel medical insurance at the time of application like they require for supervisa?
Also, when they are ready for travel, they can still buy travel insurance from India like earlier? Since for supervisa, requirement is to buy travel medical insurance from Canada and has to be submitted at application time
I have a question guys.
My parents came to Canada on visitor visa in September, 2011. Now, I am trying to extend their stay for another 8 months, until September, 2012 and bought a medical insurance until that time only. Should I send the application to the regular processing (under extension of visitor visa) or the parents/grandparents category? I have also attached a letter declaring to support them financially during their extended stay. Do I need to buy a full one year of medical insurance or until the time I am asking for the extension?
It's quite confusing. Please help if there's an expert on this.
