I meant 6 months is standard for single entry visa.
It wouldn't make sense to have a 6 month multiple entry visa either

is it possible to sponsor inlaws by the daughter in law?
Do you mean "sponsor" for visitor visa?
If so, yes, anyone can invite anyone to visit - there are no fixed rules.
The concept of sponsoring doesn't apply to visit visa - it's only for immigration.

I am also Contemplateing extension of visitor visa for my parents. What are the steps. I am aware that i have to download few forms from CIC website. My question do i have to put a strong reason for their extension of stay or it could be anything for eg. they want to be with their son/ daughter -in -law or they like to visit more close family members over here etc. Pl. direct if anyone has went through this.
