The slight uptick in RIM in last 2 days has more to do with takeover rumors from Vodaphone, and not because somehow all of a sudden RIM has become a market leader overnight.
Also, Steve's demise has been priced into the stock for a long time now.
APPL stock barely lose 3% as a result of this news.
And as I write this, APPL is down around 0.20% from open, and actually up since yesterday's close.
In other words, it's a non event.
Agreed with Rim's uptick having nothing to do with Steve Jobs, however I'm not certain of his demise being priced into the stock. Only time will tell, but his aura was a compelling driver for Apple's products and stock value. It will not be an easy feat for Cook to sustain that momentum. Will be interesting to see the stock price 6 months from now.
