Here is a twisted article from CNN that has jumped onto the "CWG is a mess" bandwagon. Fortunately, most readers (see comments following the article)can see through CNN's manipulation of "hard evidence".

there may be some manipulation or exaggeration going on, but by and large it is an unquestionable disaster.
Indian has put itself and all Indians to shame.
everyone here has seen the new and the pictures and keep asking me why this is so.
i'm sure every indian is facing such questions.
I am singularly ashamed of what has happened.
i am patriotic and love my mother country but this is shameful by any standards.
in the last 3 years we have seen very good and successful organization of world events, like the Winter Olympics here and the Beijing Olympics.
even if we grant for a moment that Canada is an advanced western country, even a backward country like South Africa organized such as successful Football World Cup.
Brazil is already fully preparing for the next one and have claimed that it will be the best ever.

this incident of CWB has exposed india's incompetence and corruption.
this shows that at the end of the day, we are still a very backward, corrupt and unorganized country.
just because we have made progress in outsourcing cheap call centers and writing cheap software programs doesn't change the other realities.
we may have all the latest gadgets, cell phones, cars, McDonalds etc. but under the covers we are still very backward.
our success with having latest toys and making cheap outsourching call centers is blinding us.

this is a very embrassing and humbling incident.

Agreed..everyone is asking the questions and this is where now you can contribute..not by saying the stuff that you just wrote. Little corruption and more mismanagement as well as severe floods caused this but situation is not as bad as ballooned by media. You know honestly..don't feel frustrated..the truth will show up in next few days. Just keep your cool for next few days and not add your frustration to the negative comments from others.
The highest authority would not have assured without taking the overall progress and estimate into consideration.
I feel bad but not ashamed of being Indian.
