Why people dont say about square feet of house?

I recently bought a house. From the day of the deal i am keep asking question to seller's agent and my agent to tell me how much exactly square feet of my house? No body is giving me an answer.

They replying that this is 20 year old house. they dont have idea of square feet.

My question is people somebody who lived in house for 10 year he must have an idea about square feet. why he dont want to say that how much approx square feet of house?

How can i know how much squarefeet of my house? I still did not move in yet.
as per room area of length and width i can judge my house is worth 1300 around square feet but my agent was saying it looks like about 1700 to 1800 square feet. is there any way i can found legal square feet on any forms?

I wouldn't have made the deal if I didn't know the size of the property. Anyway, you can get details of any property from this website:

http://www.mpac.ca/

It gives you exact square footage as per builder. Last time I used this service, one was entitled to 10 free reports per year.

Please post update once you have report as was there any Discrepancy in the area mentioned by your broker and the report.

I found square feet 1596. I paid 5$ online and i got report right away online and also on email address.
