I'm an Indian citizen in US now on H1B and have a job offer in Toronto. Planning to move by year end.
I read in online that Ontario PNP process takes 3 +3 months for provincial process and then CIC will take 12-14 months for PR.
whereas regular CIC PR process will take 14 to 18 months.
1. My question is if the processing times are almost same, why pay extra for PNP?
2. Also while I'm in US, Can my company apply for PNP?
Looking forward to land in Toronto.
Thanks.

Your Employer Eligibility: To be eligible, the companies in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) must:
Have been in existence and operation for at least three years preceding the application
Have at least $1,000,000 gross revenue in the previous fiscal year;
Have at least five permanent full-time employees;
Have a place of business located in Ontario.
Ontario PNP General Category
The General Category allows approved Ontario employers and investors to recruit foreign workers.
To be eligible to apply for Ontario nomination as a foreign worker, candidates must have:
A full-time job offer, for which they are qualified, from an approved Ontario employer in a skilled occupation (listed as NOC A, B, or 0);
At least 2 years of work experience or have appropriate registration in Ontario (if the occupation is regulated in Ontario);
Received an Employer Pre-Screen Approved Position Form, along with the nominee application package from the Ontario employer.
An offered wage that meets the prevailing wage level in Ontario for the occupation;
Legal status, if the prospective nominee is in Canada.
The above conditions are for the PNP programs. Your Employer should know the things better. Also there might be a cap on the number that are permitted to enter. So the Employer should find out first if the quota is filled for the current year.
Freddie.
Thanks guys. I'm joining a reputed MNC.
In general, if both PNP and regular PR process take the same time, why pay more for PNP? Is it bcoz it is safer?
Thanks.

it seems all provinces have different requirements. I got my PR via Nova Scotia PNP and there was no fee. It took about 9 months in total.
Thanks Freddie and John.
My question is more specific to Ontario PNP.
If provincial process itself can take ~6 months, why pay more for PNP and wait the same time as regular PR process?
Thanks.
