Most of the current TV programs on US TV have atleast one Indian person on it.
It is time that we have more Desi's on Western TV program.
One of my favorite show \"Big Bang Theory\" has an Indian astrophysicist role in it and his name is Kunal Nayyar. He has some funny lines on it. Last nite's episode had comedian Black as Entomologist who thinks his job has been outsourced to Bangalore.
Our Ram Lakhan aka Anil Kapoor has been on Keiffer Sutherlands 24 HRS.
There is another Indian guy on Parks and Recreation starring the SNL lady.
There is a show called Indie girl on Disney channel.
We also have our lady Ms.Kaling on The office. She is also a cowriter and also dating a costar on the same show.
I wish there was a desi on my other favorite show called Modern Family.
There is a desi guy on Chevy Chase show called community.
The list keeps going on and on.
As George Lopez has a talk show for latino, Ms.Monique for African Americans, Jay Leno for Whites it is time we have a Desi talk show at 11.30PM to go against Dave Letterman.

Yes, the only name comes into my mind for this job would be 'Russell Peters'. He has what it takes to be a Desi Late night Talk Show host. Others are a mere imitator.

I am not aware of the program you mentioned above, but "Indie"normally means "independent" - made my amateur or for non-profit person. I think, in French language, "Indie" normally refers to India.
You forgot Apu, perhaps the oldest "desi" on TV
I would not call it an invasion. Perhaps the TV studios are trying to be more politically correct by including a person of colour in their show (appropriately called "Token" in South Park). Looking a the ethnic diversity in US population, it is necessary to have that reflection on TV shows.
How about a desi (Hindi) talk show on morning radio. I believe 1650 is one station that can successfully host that kind of show rather than giving mindless songs in the morning. The talk shows on 101.3FM sucks big time.

The Zak and Cody has Indian characters quite often.

We have only ONE radio station that plays Hindi songs (instead of nonsense talk from advertisers) and you want to make that a talk show too.
Lets leave at least one radio station to songs. Its the only Desi station I can bare listening to.
