Hello Canada !!

This is my second post in few minutes' time on this thread.

For my Canada immigration process I will need PCC from UK, USA and UAE. I looked at the guidence provided about these three countris on CIC website.

UK -- looks OK.

USA -- two PCC needed, one from FBI and one from Mass where I lived. Mass website is confusing. Any guidence on this one?

UAE -- Has anybody obtained PCC from Abu Dhabi in the past? CIC website is silent of this.

This PCC thingy is discouraging me from applying. However, if you guys can share your experience then I will get some courage.

What if I do not get PCC from, say, UAE but have all others? Does New Delhi office accept an affidavit as substitute. ( I was in UAE in 1989).

Does PCC in India include finger printing?

Also, one agent told me that PCC is required for 12 months' stay now (rather than 6 months' stay). Is any such change coming up?

getting PCC from UAE is impossible, a guy from another forum case was rejected as he was no able to get PCC from UAE. this is not to scaer you but it is a fact.
finger print from india is required when you are trying to get PCC from othter countries.

Hi Gopalpai -- Thanks for your reply. I have sent an e-mail to Ms. Shanaz. (I have always observed that your reply is usually SPECIFIC i.e. to the point and in most cases very HELPFUL rather than something vague --- appreciate that very much).

Hi son-of-india: Can you elaborate further on your friend's case? Did he produce ALL PCCs except Abu Dhabi? Was this the only reason for rejection? Was he eligible in all other respects? Isn't there a substitute like affidavit?

do u have to surrender your passport to them? do you know how long it takes?

my friend needs to travel elsewhere and do the pcc at the same time so since time is tight this is a stress point. thanks!

......I think one only has to submit the application at PP office in Mumbai. PP need not be surrendered. It would be good idea to have PP ready at the time of submitting application, though.

Should not take more than 15 days, I guess.

When we went to Indian association, Sharjah to get PCC (India), at that time, they kept passport for 40-45 days and we collected passport and PCC together. It is compulsory everywhere.
