Hi friends,
Is it still better to go early during the day to drop off OCI documents personally?
Are there long line up we have to be prepared for?
Any one has done that recently plz reply.

we just passed thru the procedure of dropping the documents for the same. but as the centre is just opened on last 22nd, the staff is new and very slow and troubling ppl for no reason. when my husband reached there, there were around 10 ppl out of which, 9 of them have been rejected for the photographs and they were handing over someone's business card( we guess, they might be getting commision from them) for taking the pics from them. they asked my husband to come again, when my husband went there again on 3rd day, with new pics, they again had prob with pics and they were asking big pic like canadian passport. so my husband had fight with them and told them that you also ask the same size then.............

there is no room for keeping the documents. they dont check all the documents at a time. if they find some prob in one paper, they will ask you get the right one. if you go then after getting right document, if there is prob in some other document, they ask you correct it. this is how they work.......all the ppl were so much frustrated.. and they are charging 20$ per passport for each case.( this is rediculous).

Does anyone know the following...

If we go in person, does the Brampton/Toronto agency keep the original documents or do they return it right away after review? If they keep them, how long does it take for them to return the original documents?

if you go the brampton (we dont know about other place), they keep original documents and will return them after two weeks. we have to go there personally to get them. before, at indian counsulate, they used to return them right away after verifying the same.

Here was my experience at VFS Brampton when I went to drop off OCI docs.

To summarize - very satisfied at the level of professional and courteous service offered by the VFS personnel.

I was there around 9 am and I was called in within 2 minutes of waiting. The first agent checked all the documents I submitted and cross checked with the originals. Once she was satisfied with all the docs, I had to go to the second counter to pay the fee and for additional verification and computer entry. Since one of the passports was US, the system rejected it. The manager of that place came out and handled that issue and straightened it out. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes with most of the time spent checking the documents and few minutes of small talk with the agents.

One of my photos had a glue smudge, hence they requested if I can replace. I had additional copies of both photos and part A of the application, hence that was not an issue.

Bottomline, when you go there, go with extra copies of part A and part B plus one or two extra photos. There were few applicants with inadequate applications that tried to argue their way in but were sent back.
