Browse the topics in this link. It has lot of info abt carrying tv to India. I think you need a transformer to convert the voltage.

If you have the original tv box, that's good enough to pack and send. Packaging material shops have tonnes of stuff like bubble wrap etc to pack things and shipping off to India. I sent a mountain bike in a box that's made for bicycles. You get all kinds of packaging material.
