Thanks, I got car proof report, costed $ 50 + taxes.

It shows lien which seller had already told us. Other than that it is ok.

P.S. : The inspection guy told that in W5 scam (i have not read about W5 yet and not aware ) car fax had lots of cases that missed accident history in Ontario vehicles but car proof was accurate.

Hi,

Nothing is accurate No carfax or nor carproof, If person did accident repair outside than never will come in report.

Make sure everything is fine in car, like No oil leakage, no rust, no abnormal noise on engine area, etcc..

It needs to be registered with the MTO before you apply for registration as new owner. The change will show up on the UVIP, if printed after the removal of lien.

Good luck. This is the second most strenous purchase after your house..

Seller does that or lender of loan ? And how much time it would take meaning if loan was repaid mar 23, when can it be regd ?

We have one UVIP, so i do not think he will get another one. He will give us discharge letter frm lender.

It usually takes 2 working days to update the info at MTO and generally done by the lender. However, you can collect the letter from him and verify with MTO if that is acceptable. One of my friends got it done the same day (lien removal and new registration), but at that time the lender did all the registration process, so we are not very sure what was the procedure.

You can also get another UVIP since it is only $20.00 and all you need is the vehicle's VIN - which you already have on the Carproof report.

I am sure you have already taken care of the insurance policy since it will be needed for the registration.

It would be nice if you can share with us the price, year of make and the KM's run. It will help a lot of CD's to understand the true price of second hand vehicles. If confidential, please send me a PM.
IMO, I feel that second hand car's prices have not come down with the recession.
