SO there's a news item about how the army was called into Toronto back in 1998 when there was a LOT of snow... Torontonians as a result have been labelled Weather Wimps... do you really think we are weather wimps?
PS: all you non torontonians, don't you use this as an opportunity to take stabs at us now :P

Of course there are other places that get more snow than GTA but are they as populated as GTA? Its one thing for a barren stretch in Manitoba to get 5 feet of snow. Its a different matter altogether when you dump that in the GTA...life comes to a standstill.
Mel Lastman is a nut case. Maybe we did not need the army, maybe we did...it was the mayor's call. By the way, you cannot change people's perception sometimes...if not this, then they all hate Toronto for many other things...

The idea wasn't to hate Toronto and by the way it was CP24 that had this about Torontonians being weather wimps and my poll was just to see how others felt. I guess i should have started with my self and stated, YES, I'm a weather wimp.. I HATE this cold weather and especially today, I don't care to step outside 
but my hubby begs to differ and says, just dress well and u'll be ok...
I think on days like today, all schools and offices should be closed so that everyone can work on being warm and be safe from the FLU virus

We make fun out of cold weather but apart from that - it's life, can't do much. Absolutely no problem with the cold - better than heat/humidity of MiddleEast

There is wayyyyy long gap between the holiday of 1st Jan and Family day in Feb. Perhpas Dalton can declare a cold day as a public holiday.
Just like as one of the travel company advises, the temp goes below -10°C, and we guarantee you a public holiday
