PIO card holder require to notify if staying more than 180 days. If PIO holder staying long time (like 10 years) in india, is it require to notify every 6 month?
(OR it requires only one time per visit.)

Registering once is sufficient, but then it comes with other requirements. If you move out of the city where you registered for > 4 weeks, even temporarily, you need to inform them etc. Check out the India govt site for more details

Hi guys,

Please find following links for PIO application form (Toronto / Ottawa)
http://www.hciottawa.ca/counsularservices.htm#PERSONS
http://www.cgitoronto.ca/forms/PIOCardForm.pdf

Form on Toronto website indicates the 35 * 35 mm 4 photos required while the form on Ottawa website indicates the 3.5 * 2.5 cm 3 photos required. Requirement on Ottawa website says 3.5 * 4.5 cm 3 photos required.

I doubt about 3.5 * 2.5 and 3.5 * 4.5 photo requirement. This looks like mistake on Ottawa website.

What do you think about photo requirement and how many? [I am in Ottawa]

What other documents are required for child with application form?
Birth Certificate / Citizenship Card
Canadian Passport
Indian Passport of one parent (Cancelled / Valid)
Landing paper

Questions about PIO form:

1) On first page, Should I write child name as Name of Applicant?
2) At the end in "Declaration" section, should I sign where asked for Signature of Applicant?
3) Two thumb impression for child are required. [Right or Left Thumb? How can I get child thumb impression on the form?]
4) Physical presence of child is required when going to submit appn at consulate?
5) Fee is C$240 for child PIO. How much if paying using US$? What would be better?

Thanks in advance.

3] Visitor Visa . incase of visitor visa, would it be regular visitor visa or visitor visa - relative visit?

OCI was taking one month but it can take up to 4 months.

PIO is around 15 days.

Tourist visa should not take too much time. Only Toronto consulate can explain the benefits of visitor visa-relative visit and what would happen if you go on tourist visa and happen to visit your relatives.

Meitsme, better call Ottawa consulate (they are way better than Toronto consulate in picking up the phone) or send them an email.

Thanks rajcanada.

I called them. Picked up the phone. But they have given answer by reading on website and also hang on after giving answer of 2 questions.

I think lot of CD member gone through the PIO and OCI process. Let me know if you have answer of my questions.

Questions for Adult OCI application:

1) Fees is USD $275. Can I pay fees in Canadian Dollar? If yes, how much?
2) Can I pay fee in cash at counter?
3) Can I submit an application for my wife?

Questions for Child PIO application:

1) On first Page of application form who should be the name of applicant? (Child or Parent)
2) On last page of application form in "Declaration" section who should sign where asked for signature of applicant? (Child or Parent)
3) Physical presence of child required at consulate at the time of submitting application?
4) What documents needs to bring other than following?
Birth Certificate / Citizenship Card
Canadian Passport
Indian Passport of one parent
Landing paper
5) Fee is CAD $240. How much need to pay if paying using USD?
6) How many photos are required and what should be the size of photos? [Application form on Ottawa website indicates 3.5 * 2.5 cm while requirement list on Ottawa website indicates 3.5 * 4.5 cm. I think both size are wrong and they may be looking for 3.5 * 3.5 cm. Could anyone please confirm it?]
7) Can I apply for PIO of my children when I'll have an appointment for submission of OCI application for me?

Thanks in Advance
