Time span for sponsorship of mother

Dear all,

My AOR is November 2004. I may be getting my request for status updates any day. I would like to sponsor my mother after getting a PR visa in due course. My questions are:

1. How long after getting the PR visa can I sponsor my mother to come and stay in Canada?

2. How much funds do I have to show in order to be considered eligible for sponsoring?

Would appreciate your responses...

1. You can sponsor immediately provided you can show them that you have met income criteria.

2. GO to CIC.GC.CA- Sponsoring your parents- you will find income criteria. It is as per number of members in the family.
