hello every one i'm new to this website its really help full site . the reason i'm writing this because i need help to apply citizenship of canada here is my case i came in canada in oct 2003 and become permanent residence in june 2006 . when i become permanent residence the judge told me that i can apply citizenship in june 2008 they already calculate one year since oct 2003 to june 2006 so you can apply citizenship after 2 years of pr card and now i want to apply citizenship but i was out of country like 103 days between june 2006 to june 2008 so in sep 2008 my two years complete after getting pr card mean i have basic days 1095 for the citizenship but when i calculate on cic website its gave me wrong calculation its said you have basic days more than 1095 days but you have 1095 days physical presence in canada . the website calculator said you are eligible in dec 2008 its count my absence 103 days into 206 days . i talk to immigration and they said you can apply manual application and its up to judge he accept your application are not. now i'm confused dont know what to do i was out of canada 103 days since oct 2003 to update and i am in canada physiacly in that case what i have to do any advise , suggestions what is the best action in this situation plz help

If you apply with fewer than three (3) years (1,095 days) of basic residence, your application will be returned to you by the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia (CPC Sydney).

Only the four (4) years preceding the date of your application are considered for calculating residence eligibility.

Physical presence in Canada is the amount of time you have lived in Canada within the relevant four-year period, minus time spent serving a sentence, and minus the days you have been physically absent from Canada. If you have fewer than three (3) years (1,095 days) of physical presence but at least three (3) years of basic residence less time served, the citizenship judge will evaluate the nature of your residence in Canada. However, your application will take longer to process and may be refused. See Question 8 for more information on applying with fewer than 1,095 days of physical presence.

Seeing the foregoing and if you apply they might take a longer time to process your application, I would think it is wise to hold off till December 2008, as their calculator says. This way you will benefit by the delay and there will be no questions asked since the machine is also satisfied, nor will they return it back to you.

Normally you need to spend another 103 days but in your case it is a bit different. When you spend 103 days you loose 51.5 days. just because the time is counted from th elast 4 years and before the PR the time is counted half. So now you need 103 days but actually you would have to spend 206 days to fullfill 1095 days.

i already have completed 5 yrs as permanent resident in canada, but my presence day in canada are 900 and absent days are 560 since last 04 years, becas i am working in middle east, and i have rotational job in middle east, i work there for 40 days and then come back canada for 30 days, this is routine since last 5 yrs,
kindly advise me can i apply for citizenship, and judge can accept my case, my family living in toronto and all family is canadian citizen, i am comming canada regular and stay with family,
