So far nearly half of them have bowed out of the competition. Even a country like Vietnam has got a medal, that too silver.
It all starts from the beginning from the opening ceremony. Some are wearing sarees, some like Sania Mirza were wearing pants. Are they shy of wearing a saree to represent their nation? Is it not our, sort of, tradiional dress? The reason given in the media is that the saree supplier did not get it to the authorities in time. Huh! There got to be something else.
And the Monika devi case where she was "tested positive" by Sports Authority of India and then comes back and says it's not the case. Someone in SAI delayed the results so that she got cleared late and missed the olympics. Means someone played real dirty to make sure that she did not go.
I dont understand why there has to be politics in everything in India? What is wrong with us? Are we just fit to write codes and receive phone calls from western countries? Sports be damned.

If Ms. Mirza wears a saree than muslims will threat her to kill. That's why saree did not reach at time to olympics.
About Medals, if there will be a sport politics and corruption in olympics, India will sure have it.
Even we have not promoted our children to look at other sport than cricket. Big marketing of cricket is done in India by BCCI to make big money. Ministry of sports is given to the candidate who gives outside support to govt. You have seen how ministers are in "chak de".
Not to shy for not having any gold in Olympics. Shy for what's happening in Parliament.

As soon as your born in India, your janam kundali will have two things above everything else: Education and a stable job.
That's it. Rest is all secondary, a distraction.
Sports, especially Olympics, needs dedication and practice at the level me and you can barely comprehend. Athletes dedicate their lives to the sport they love and give it their all knowing they have that one chance.
Above all this, I am not sure how India measures upto other nations that support their athletes. Other than Cricket, what other sports does one get encouraged for if at all they do? Tennis? Sania Mirza is in the news for all the damned wrong reasons.
