Unable to find status of Permanent Resident card renewal application

Hey Guys,

I mailed my application to renew Permanent Resident card on May 15 from USA.
Tracking website of the carrier shows that it was delivered on May 20

CIC website shows that its processing the application received by May 21st but I still can not find the any status of my application?

I tried using both Receipt no (IMM 5401) and PR Card no but no luck.

Can you guys suggest me how can I find the status of my application.

You see, the 96 cents postage that you pasted on that envelope to mail, gave you away.

Now consider yourself lucky if you get a letter from them. You can roll on the floor and laugh your horse off.

You know why?

They don't issue you a renewal of the PR card from outside of CANADA. It is only renewable 'from within Canada'.

They will not send any thing back to you. (Also you are in the USA and want your card sent to you there? Right?)

So, Back to square one, well for you it will be square two.
First get a Travel Document to enter Canada. Down fifty bucks. It takes about two weeks. Cross the border. Fill out a second application to get a PR Card Renewal. Down another fifty bucks. Provide them with a Canadian Address, stay here for sixty days. Then when it arrives collect the same. Please tell them that you are back here in Canada. By the by, did you live here at least 730 days out of five years?

Any one would have told you this if you had asked for the procedure. Alternately, if you had searched the CD website, you would have had your answer before you did the mailing. Asking is no crime. Not knowing is......Criminal. Sorry about it.

Well now what should be my next step. As I understand to get the Travel Document I would have to send my expired PR card. Would I get my expired PR Card when I get the Travel Document?

Also Once I go to Canada how long it would take me to get the PR card renewed and what do I need to process the application through rush service?

All you have to do is tag along with the spouse. You both can enter together. Please carry all of the documents, such as Marriage certificate, Previous landing stamped on the passport etc., and cross the border and then get your PR card renewed.

I have no way of knowing that one of the spouse is Canadian and the other was a landed immigrant. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. In any case, if you do hear from them please let us all know.

Freddie Thanks for your reply again but it did not answer my questions.

Can some experts please answer to my following questions.

1. My PR card was expired in June. Can I still apply for Travel Document? (My wife is a Canadian citizen and she is accompanying me in US)
2. Where do I have to send the documents for Travel document?
3. After the application is mailed in how long it takes to get the Travel document?
4. Can I enter in Canada by Car using Travel Document?
5. When in Canada how can I process the PR card renewal through rush service?
6. How long it takes to get the PR card renewed through rush service?
