You should have no problems. Also try and change you tickets to Toronto if you have not done that already. If you have difficulties from changing the destination on the tickets from Montreal to Toronto on the ticket, try and route your passage THROUGH Toronto. Ask them to leave the Toronto - Montreal Sector Blank and tell them you will have a break here and utilize it later.

Clear your Immigration at the first POE and get all of the documents cleared at Toronto. If he asks you tell them you have urgent work in Toronto to complete.

Here is some information on the Three cities TRI CITI area, as they are known here and get settled.

http://www.foundlocally.com/Kitchener/Travel/Map-KitchenerAreaNeigh.htm

These people will wait for you and pick you up and you can depend upon them. They are good and their fares for FOUR gets a lot cheaper. I don't know the people who are traveling with you and hence the suggestion.

After you settle down you can use the other services that are there. Here is one of them. Local city bus: http://www.grt.ca/web/transit.nsf/$All/518C1E021E83164F85257460005B9065?OpenDocument
Monthly pass : http://www.grt.ca/web/transit.nsf/DocID/F0DD4196A9AC39D985256B210066A160?OpenDocument

I did not have time to complete and provide you with a few more suggestions. But you are free to post to this website and there are others who live there will supplement you with lot more.

You can surely post a question to this board and every time you will see the reply with a few more added features. Those answers that get supplemented by people who get to see them or live near by and with the current enhancement of the services at those locations that changed since the previous posting.

Hope this helps.

Freddie.

Dear Ftfl,
You did such a great job helping and advicing,,the links you gave me are of such huge help to me.

I will be arriving in Montreal airport first week of July with my family ,but i didnt write Montreal as my sttlement destination, plus i know that Quebic has it,s own measures regarding immigrants, so i was afraid, us landing in Montreal would be of any problem, but thank the almighty your answer, as usual, is comperhinsive and truthful. I am afaraid our tickets can,t be changed, so Montreal it,s mate,,my mistake :cuss:.

Any way, let me clarify this part from you and i know you,ll be patient with me,,,you said {Clear your Immigration at the first POE and get all of the documents cleared at Toronto. If he asks you tell them you have urgent work in Toronto to complete.} ,,,,,,,,,,now picture this ,,,I am just off the plane in Montreal Airport now { my first POE}, should i proceed to the Immigration officer to finish my COPR papers and the whole immigration process,, or should i tell them i am going to Toronto and my Immigration papers will be done in there?

I Thank you again for the professionall answer.

Bless you mate.

If you are not a provincial Nominee, then you can move to any province. Some times there are sponsors for the new immigrants and it is advisable to land where there is support and a base to use.

If your situation is none of the above and it was your choice to land in MONTREAL to settle down, then you can land any where and move on to a place of your liking. The onus is on you to prepare yourself to settle down in the newer location.

You normally get your Passport stamped and go through the formalities at the FIRST Port of Entry, that is Montreal in your case. They will clear you and who ever accompanies you and immigrates, at that location.

You make your onward journey to Waterloo by yourself. No one will question you about it.

Safe trip and a smooth landing.

Freddie.
