We can get odometer records from the MTO. If these indicate that there has been an odometer rollback, the dealer is in trouble as even if he didn't do it himself, he would have known for sure (or should have made sure) before selling the car to you.

Let me know when you are planning to visit Mississauga and we can discuss.

Thanks for all your advise friends,
This dealership on Derry Road in Malton, Mississauga is not for a particular make like KIA or Toyota, but they keep car of all makes and models, basically buying the cars from auctions and than further selling it, This dealer advertises very frequently on Desi / Punjabi Channels like ATN and SSTV.

You can complain to UCDA but it wont help a lot. You can sue the dealer but that may not help too Why!!! bcoz The dealers have a workaround for this.

Say i am a shady dealer and want to rollback the odometer of a car from 200000km to 750000km before selling it. Here is what i will do
1) Negotiate the price from the seller and pay him money.
2) Before going to MTO and registering the car get the odometer rolled back.
3) After rolling it back register the car with the dealer plate at the rolled back km reading.

Now if you sue the dealer the dealer will say i was cheated too bcoz the original seller rolled back the odo. However he does not want to sue the original seller as he dosent have time for it. You cannot sue the original seller as you did not buy from him...

Live with the car now and ensure that you do a carfax before buying your next used car

Once i got a used car which was a accident car from a dealer. When i had to sell it 2 months later i found from the people who were looking to buy that it was a an accident car with a complete door change and side panel change.

I ended up selling it back to the dealer for 2000$ less than what i had purchased it..

Carfax had no information on it. So in some ways car fax is not completely reliable.

U can try and waste ur time suing the dealer .. I would just absorb the loss and move on.. Car dealers are scum..

My solution this time was to buy a really old used car from a private party so that even if i am cheated it is not for a whole lot.

I am wondering you are making round and round information why you are not giving the dealership name. :( atleast your information will help you out others to buy car from the same dealership and more canadian desi visitors can aware and can avoid to get scam like you.

see Posted by Cyberian.............give information so you can save to become one more person like you from the same dealership........

I was wondering why the Odometer was not checked while registering with MTO? They do request for the KM reading before registering, so any roll back should have been noticed at that stage itself - unless the previous registration was in another province or country who databases are not shared with MTO.

Bad luck and hope a lesson learnt, please consult experienced friends/experts before making important decisions, especially in the early days of arrival when we are not fully aware of the scams in the market.
