Hi,
Happy Diwali in advance ! Hope you are all doing well.
This one is kind of a tough one!. After driving Cars from the Chrysler stable for a relatively long time, it's time to look East, to Japan. It was probably my luck that despite being taken care of, like a baby, my Chrysler made cars didn't exactly seem to be the kind, one would be proud of.
So here I am, in the market for a Car again. I understand from friends that Toyota is a reliable car, and I would like to buy one. I plan to buy a Toyota, with a small engine (under 2 liters) with a limited budget of $ 5000. I would ideally look to buy a car with under 200 K kilometers on the odometer. The year wouldn't matter, as long as it has been maintained well.
Between the CAMRY & COROLLA, which one is a better car? Also, can I have your opinion and experiences shared with me, with regard to this?
Thanks again!
Both are good cars ..... For $5K budget , you should be looking at a 2001-2002 Corolla 1.8 l .... The Camry is above 2 l .
Wait and watch Craigslist / Kijiji / else where for 1 - 2 months ..... look for no body rust / low mileage / well maintained vehicles ..... chances are with in a span of patient 1-2 months wait , you should land in a low mileage , good car ..... but when you do , dont waste time ....
Have a trusted mechanic to inspect the cars you short list and try for a car which has no apparent expense ... I think you should be good ....
Another good car which fits your bill and for which you might be able to get higher year models is the Nissan Sentra ... 1.8 l again ..... Can't go wrong with either of them as long as they are clean .

Fido.
I second that opinion, after buying a Nissan Sentra second hand almost 4 years befor ei didnt have any problem with it except changing tyres and oil. I am sure corolla users can shed more light but Nissan Sentra is a good choice too
