Check out my thread under Jobs forum. These are reals jobs and not from job boards. These are the jobs which recruiters send me.

Hope it will help CDs finding jobs in IT.

Thanks Freddie for those links to Sheridan website.

But I have not seen anyone mention ELUTA. Here is the link to the website http://www.eluta.com
Eluta is one of those sites where job posting is done by the hiring company only. They frown upon agency postings. You search for jobs like google or yahoo and you get hits.

Another great resource is the HRDC - they sponsor tons of programs in every community to help you network and find a job. For example, York region has a program to help senior workers get a job. I think it is called ReNEW program. They have counselors in neighborhood employment centres (almost every kind of neighborhood) who can help in reviewing your resume, cover letter, cold calling approach, interview skills, dress code --- etc. York region also has a job finding club sponsored by HRDC which has over 90% success rate in 1 month. You can use their computers and phone lines for free to make calls or research a company.

One tip I can give fellow Desi's is to watch out for agencies. Agencies do not always have a job that they advertise. Shocking? No - not at all. They are building a database of applicants that they can go to potential clients (companies) and show as a strength of their service. When I did interviews at agencies, I thought of them as practice interviews - when I left the place I analyzed my performance and improved my interview skills. Do not let them or those interviews discourage you.

For those in the York Region or thinking of working in the region there is a site called Fairy Lake jobs. IT folks may want to check this out because york region has an inordinate number of large IT corporations.

Hi there,

As far as Pures is concerned, it's not a good training school. But there is one near to Pures, which goes by the name of Victoria International College. It's much better established and a registered private school. Pures is not even a registered school and charge more money. Pures is having all chinese instructors. Victoria is also having a Chinese owner, but they do have one Indian SAP Consultant, who is full-time working there. He is having rich experience in the SAP's cutting edge technology.
I would suggest you to check that out before wasting your money at Pures or any other Indian institute :)

Cheers and best of luck,
Abhi
