I would say wait until the baby is at least 6 months old. Hiren has said wait until 18 months of age. As posted above one CD has traveled with 5 weeks old baby and a some with 3 to 5 months old and successfully made it back from India. There is no golden rule as such. May be you can check with your family doctor.

Oct-Apr would be suitable as it is not too hot.
