experience in canada---
1-in mississauga--
A salesman sold rogers card for mobile phone and we purchased it.
When we tried to call india we could not make it -asked tht guy-he replied it is only for local use------- now what will we do to that card-where will we be using it ???as landline phone at home is available to call local number.
*connection charges+card value etc=75 CAD $ just a waste we spent it seems!
Can we make any better use of tht mobile card in anyway/ to call International numbers?
2-Now bought an Int. calling card whn we dial given number on card using landline it says ,u can call 5 hrs ----for 10 $ card----very happy to hear tht and--we make call to india & start talking ---- in just 3-4 mins it finishes!
Whats all this system--can anyone explain???

1. call Rogers and say your understanding was it can be used for Int. calls as per what the sales guy told u etc... Just stress that sales guy said it can be used They may replace it with an int. card of equivalent value or give u credit. May not get refund, but at least some credit. At least worth a shot. Worked for me earlier when I bought a rogers SIM card from store; opened it to load it into the phone I bought from Rogers online and then found that it is pre-loaded with another SIM. he he.
2. Buy reliance india card or something more reliable. If u r having rogers home phone, they have a 10 cent per min to India plan - All the world plan or so. May be they will give u credit for ur calling card here.
Just talk nice to the agent. If the CSR don't budge, hang up and call back. In 2 or 3 attempts, u will get a nice CSR who will give u credit. No idea how that works, but some will say there is no way they can help u... then another guy will give u all sorts of credit!
thanks

I prefer to use Samjota card for india and you can get the cheapest one for $2.50, or may be 20/20 card too is good.
