Hello All,

We will slowly start looking to buy a house / town house. I would like to get some suggestions / ideas.

As I work in downtown, our preference will be that we stay somewhere from where i can reach downtown easily meanig may be in half an hour...so we were thinking of buying near subway line. Is this good thought ? Or any other suggestion ? If this is ok, any locations you can suggest near subway line....?

Secondly people suggested to buy in oakville mississauga and take GO but that wud mean more than an hr, going to GO 10 min approx , and from GO to office is 10 min. So I am not too keen.

Our second reqwuirement is a day care facility near by.

So basically any suggestions are welcome for where to buy a house with minimum commute time to downtown.

Buy a house nr. lawrence and keele. A desi community & 1 bus to lawrence subway. hardly 10 min. Bus comes every 2-3 min. It is conviniet location. 1 bus to mississuga (58). 400 and 401 is 2-3 min far away. Schools, dominion, nofrills and our community. Welcome buddy!!

May I suggest the area between Kipling and Islington subway stations?
AT both Kipling and Islington subway stations condo's are coming up. Near Islington Subway station are some apartment , flooded by Desi's and other immigrants looking for jobs. You will get very nice day care with them for low price. Near this apartments are some Townhouses for sale. For residences, there are some nearby (resale only) and I donot see any houses being built. Note that this area is priced a bit more.
I recommend this area as it is 30 mins. by subway to Downtown as well as 1 bus (30 mins) to Mississauga where you can connect with fello desi's very easily.
I am sure that there might be better locations that this but I have been long living in this area and would higly recommed this. Though it is full of immigrants, Crime rate is very less as it is composed of mainly desi's, middle eastern people and East Europeans.
