Facts:
My study permit is valid till March 2008.
I have a valid US Visit visa.
My TRV has expired, and so far I haven't applied to renew it.

Wants:
To go to Mexico around xmas time for a week.

Known facts:
Cannot go to Mexico from Canada because if I leave Canada, re-entry into Canada only with study permit is not possible.

I can go to USA since I have a US Visa, and re-enter Canada by showing just my study permit. I have confirmed that with CIC, and that there is no need for a valid TRV to re-enter Canada as long as you're coming in from the US.



Trying to accomplish:
Go to US, drop the car off at a friend's place, grab a flight from the US airport to Mexico. Come back into the US from Mexico upon vacation completion, pick up car from friend's place, and drive back into Canada.


My question is, is what I am trying to accomplish possible?
If it's not, do I have any other alternative?

I do not think I can apply for TRV now, and even if I do, not a good chance that I will get it back on time, or even if they will give it to me, as my study permit is due to expire in March, 2008.

Please also feel free to voice any concerns or be against this whole plan if it sounds risky.
