Dear All,,
I am planning to move to Canada. I am working in printing industries. My education is B com, Diploma in Printing Technology and Diploma in Business Management all from Mumbai
I think I have 3 -4 years of time before my application will get short listed. I was thinking of getting some additional education of MBA.
Please advice on following:
1. MBA by distance education is valid in Canada?
2. The MBA from UK will be valid in Canada
3. If I have MBA from UK, will it create problem for me getting Job in Canada?
4. What is preference?
If you have any other info on suitable MBA courses please share with me.

I am not an MBA grad but will surely go for it one day. I am living in Toronto, Canada for the last 6yrs and working in IT Field so I kinda know the market requirements. I will try my best to answer your questions...

Not sure what you mean by valid? If you have done your MBA from an accredited University, then YES it is valid in terms of recognizing it as an MBA degree. There are organizations here(eg - WES) who look at your transcripts and give you a report which will compare your Non-Canadian degree with a Canadian Degree

I don't see any reason why having an MBA degree from anywhere in the world would create a problem getting a job. It is obviously better to have an MBA(from any school) rather then not having one.

Well..MBA teaches you Management/Administration which is not science. It prepares you with additional skill sets like how to manage ppl or business etc. A lot depends on your personality as well. In short, I would not go for distance learning of any kind for MBA. There are a lot of good MBA schools(IIM for example) in India which are well know world wide. I would look at the reputation of the school and get feedback from past students before I choose the school. I hope this helps.

In my opinion,
if you are sure u are going to move to canada, then u should do the MBA from a canadian institute, my partner is going his MBA from the UK, and who ever professional he has spoken to say the same thing that a canadian MBA is recognized above else in canada, and it will make a big difference when looking for a job.
also there is a huge difference in the fee's for the canadian and Uk MBA. Canadian ones are much more expensive, but a worthy investment. ( also, UK doesnt require GMAT canada does)
