I thought there are some recent developments for indian CAs to pursue CGA.

The website of Indian CA institute states that CGA may be completed by pursuing only five courses instead of the usual sixteen.

it was also confirmed by the institute's president in one of the seminars in middle east.

ICAI Members now gain easy access in Canada
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) members will now get easy entry into Canada, as the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA) has given advanced standing status to ICAI members. Now the ICAI members will have to appear effectively in only five papers to pass the CGA examinations of Canada as against the sixteen papers earlier. The announcement has come from CGA Canada after a process for evaluation of ICAI qualification was over at their level.

Certified General Accountant Association of Canada (CGA) is a national self regulating association of 55000 CGAs. It sets national education standards, professional standards and practices, provides services to affiliates and members, contributes to IAS setting process, and represents the CGA profession nationally in Canada. It works with provincial institutes in Canada to deliver the CGA program. It also promotes professionalism through a Code of ethical principles and rules of conduct and mandatory CPE requirements.

CGAs are professional accountants provide services mainly in taxation and financial consultancy to business of all sizes. In Canada, one can earn the graduation and CGA concurrently.
