Whatever you guys say, India is still not a land of gold. If it's so, what all you guys are doing here? Go back and lead a RICH man's life..
I still tend to laugh at the rosy picture that the media is showing. Whatever you're talking about is very small percentage.
All media hype.

Ash great realistic perspective! I have been outa India for so long I grow uncontrollably nostalgic while reading these stories. Of course, in the back of my mind, I always imagine tons of spicy snacks all day long! The few times I was in India, I essentially thrived on snacks... there being such variety, one never gets tired! I might cruise to India one of these days after establishing myself at the University and securing the passport... And haul back a whole lota snacks! LOL
How much % of educated qualified Indians are in Canada ?? Any counts or idea ? That would be a far less % . And how many takers are there for Immigration to Canada these days - any counts ? I think the economic aspect of Immigration is decreasing now and those who are coming are more due to other reasons.
My eyes open when I see people half worthy , getting v good packages and that makes me feel that things have really changed in India . Now I am talking about an average urban professional and comparing with say a decade back.

Fido.
Canada still rules....
Dear CDs,
Take a deep breathe. No need to argue without knowing the ground realities. Since my arrival I have been running around (literally) meeting lot of people during the course. Some of the people who have more money are reluctant to show off. May be they are afraid of income tax raids. But unfortunately the majority of the IT folks are getting out of control. Right now the job scene is good for IT, banking, etc. but how long the good time will last? No one knows. Going with the saying "make hey while the sun shines", people are having a good time now. Hope it will last for a long time, again it all depends on world economy (read USA).
Again, attitudes remain the same for the educated folks also. Lot of them need to grow up.

This Return to India feeling was itching big for more than 10 years. Finally it turned
out to be reality in 2005. I was paid US$ (Same cheque as in California) for 8 months.
But I was hardly impressed to continue over there after 9 months worth of hardship. We decided we wouldn't want to come back and live rather push hard in US/Canada.
Crime and many other facts that I hesitate to discuss have completely ruined my age long dreams of settling in India.
Most of my friends who returned to India from US / Canada are looking to return badly except those who are hiding their suffering....
Till date, no change in India to flee the country.
BTW, some of my relatives in US and India always keep talking very high about India and their idea is to get me out of US / Canada so that *(*&(. Its an age old trick.
What I have today in Canda, it can't even be compared what I was going through in India. Incidentally I thought about it yesterday.
Canada Zindabad (US too, I can't crib about US just because I couldn't settle there).

If I had a dime for every post on the argument about which country's better......
Fill in the blank below with the country of your choice.
_______'s the BEST country in the world to live in if I feel that I'll be happiest there while recognizing that no country is perfect but the plus points of living in ______ outweigh the shortcomings.
I obviously lack confidence in myself OR my analytical skills if I need others to validate my decision to move to _______ and I continue to emphasize the virtues of living in _______ while living in a country that is NOT ______.
