My question is can I renew my PR Status in my particular scenario:
My status is:
- I am holding a PR Card, valid till June, 2008
- I have completed 370 days of residency in Canada
- I am at present working in Canada
- I have filed tax returns in Canada
- I have a bank a/c, credit card from a Canadian Bank
- I have stocks in Canada to the tune of CAD 2,000/-
- my daughter applied for citizenship in Canda in February, 2007 and the file is in process

Now, I got a very good job in Doha - Qatar as HR Manager. If I decide to move out of Canada:
a) how does it affect my PR Card and my residency requirements
b) can I renew my PR Card in advance before I move out from Canada
c) do I have to inform CRA or any other regulatory agency?
d)am I obliged to file income tax for the coming years?
e) if I keep my bank accounts and stocks (as indicated above), will not help me to stay as a permanent resident?

Here are the answers to some of your questions.

a) It will not affect your PR card - but will affect your residency requirements (for maintaining the PR status as well as for the citizenship, in case you are planning to apply for it), obviously, because you will be out of Canada.

c) It is a good idea to inform CRA to let them know that you are now a NR of Canada (for tax purpose). Make sure that you do not have any significant ties (like house and spouse/family) with Canada. That way you will not be taxed on your worldwide income.

d) As a NR, you are not obliged to pay taxes on your non-cdn income.
e) NO.
