Watched it yeaterday. Not bad at all. IMO, NRIs with daughters must see (also The Namesake for those who have sons). Namastey London shows where parents have made the mistakes, including raising daughters in a superficial environment, such as sucking upto whites, etc. The dialogues between Rishi and his wife has lot of meaning. Some scenes are comic, some are too dragging (thx to DVD remote). Katrina Kaif acted well just like the BBCD brat. As a harried/worried father, Rishi Kapoor does a good job.

My 2c. I hope dangling the foreign passports infront of boys in India has ended. This is the biggest myth. The NRI parents still think that they can buy a grom in the marriage market in India. May be true in some states such as Punjab. There MAY NOT BE compatibility between western raised girls and desi raised boys, especially if they are not from the metros.
(I know this will not go well with some CDs, so be it).

NRI arrested at airport on charges of murdering wife

Staff Reporter

He is suspected to have killed her at her residence in U.S.

NEW DELHI: A young Non-Resident Indian, who allegedly murdered his wife at Phoenix in the United States on Thursday, was arrested soon after he landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Saturday.

He was produced in a city court on Sunday that remanded him to one-day judicial custody. The airport authorities here had received information through the Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday about a red-corner notice issued by Interpol against 32-year-old Avtar Singh Grewal as he was suspected to have murdered his 30-year-old wife Navneet Kaur in Phoenix on Thursday. No sooner Avtar landed at the IGI Airport, Immigration officials intercepted him and handed him over to the police.

Living separately

Avtar married Navneet about two years ago. It is alleged that they did not get along well and had been living separately.

Avtar worked for a firm at Vancouver in Canada, while Navneet worked in Phoenix and lived alone.

Navneet's father, a retired police officer who lives in neighbouring Gurgaon, told the media that Avtar wanted Navneet to quit her job and live with him. But she wanted to stay on and obtain U.S. citizenship. This allegedly led to frequent altercations between them.

On Friday morning when Navneet did not turn up for work, her colleagues went to check on her at her residence and discovered that she had been murdered. It is suspected that Avtar went from Vancouver to Phoenix by air on Thursday, allegedly killed Navneet and then flew to New Jersey from where he took a flight to Delhi.

Wanted divorce

Avtar, who belongs to Punjab, comes from an influential background.

According to an agency report, the Phoenix police claimed to have gathered evidence establishing Avtar's involvement and that he had been seen at his estranged wife's residence on Thursday. The report says Navneet was planning to divorce Avtar.

Now that Avtar has been arrested, the Phoenix police would approach the Ministry of External Affairs here with a request for his extradition.

starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Is that the one on Muslims in Britain? I watched it in the afternoon. Interesting stuff. Portrays basically what Amanpour wishes to portray. Another journalist interviewing the same people can come up with a different story/angle.
Coming from one who wrote voraciously for newspapers and mags some time ago and still do to an extent here. I can do two opposite views using clips and snips from the same interviews with the same people.
So much for such documentaries- all balderdash!
