Dear CDs
I have read about couple of accounting courses on this site. I have following questions :
1. What is the difference between CPA / CGA / CMA ?
2. I am planning to move to Canada in the first quater of 2007 and intend to stay for around 10 years. After that I wish to return back to India. During my stay, what course should I take up so that when I return to India, I may have a good accounting qualification to seek job in the corporate sector. I know that I will not be allowed to practice as a CA but that is anywhere not in agenda. So I have the following choices : CPA / CGA / CMA / MBA (Finance).
3. This is for my kid. He is 1 year and 3 months old. I wish to know the minimum age at which a kid is admitted to a school. What class does he start the schooling with? Do the schools offer day care services so that while the kid attends the school, both me and my wife may work?
Please provide your expert advice.

1. CPA IS A US DESIGNATION AND CMA /CGA IS CANADIAN DESIGNATION
2. AS SAID YOU ARE A INDIAN CA, AFTER CREDITS IT SHOULD TAKE YOU MINIMUM 2 YRS+ TO GET THE CGA/CMA (ASSUMING YOU PASS ALL EXAMS IN FIRST ATTEMPT). GETTING THESE DESIGNATIONS WOULD NOT GUARANTEE YOU JOB OR COMFORT LEVEL YOU ARE PERCIEVING. YOU CAN PRACTICE AFTER GETTING CGA/CMA AFTER YOU COMPLETE CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
3. KIDS ARE ADMITTED 4YR+ TO KINDERGARTEN. KG IS HALF A DAY IN MOST MUNICIPALITIES. PUBLIC SCHOOLS DO NOT OFFER DAY CARE FACILITIES. PRIVATE SCHOOLS OFFER SUCH TYPE OF FACILITIES THOUGH YOU NEED TO PAY $500+ PM FOR EACH KID. OTHER DAY CARE SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE AT COST.
