I am an IT guy and was wondering.......if going to US for IT job on TN Visa is better than staying in Canada and looking for jobs here.

Define - better.
Do you have something in the US, I mean a job offer, or are you planning on going there and looking for one. In which case, you may have a tough time getting a visit visa. (I'm assuming you are Canadian PR).
Compare both scenarios and jodge for yourself.

Instead of posting such a vague question, why don't tell more about yourself? Like are you a canadian citizen? How long have you worked in IT and what kind of work did you do?
Just because you are an IT professional doesn't mean you'll get a good job. It depends on your skillset and experience etc.
So why don't you take a few minutes and post proper details about yourself and so that you might get better help.
