Hi guyz.. wanted to get this clarified..
As I understand once 140 gets approved and if CP is selected (not 485) one can be out of US (say Canada) working for another empl.. as long as 140 is not revoked by the US empl the application would remain valid and the person could attend the immig interview when the time comes.. all that would be reqd is an offer letter for that position from the US empl (since GC is for future employment).. kindly confirm.
Thanks a lot in advance.. appreciate.
AG.
true - my lawyer confirmed the same - I am going for studies in Canada, i have my I-140 approved and chosen CP for the next stage...she said my GC process can go on while i am out there.

Hi guptak_2000 and aru123,
Do we have to choose whether to go for Consular or AOS at the time of filing of I-140?
Are u a PR of Canada? While going for interview at US consulate in Canada(Consular), will there be any problem being a PR of Canada?
One of my friends is a PR of Canada currently working in Canada for a multinational company. His company is planning to file I-140 with the substitution of labor. He is in a dilemma whether to choose Consular processing or AOS as the company will move him to US on L1 or H1B next year.
Your replies are highly appreciated.
