Nobody can predict your wife's success or failure in Canada too. I think it all depends on person's approach, luck, education, demand in that particular field, etc. Not everybody is going to find the job he or she likes. Some will, some won't.

You want people to do the research for you? Use google for now. After you immigrate, you can go to library and you should find some book on list of companies, etc.

Indian degrees may not be recognised and you may have to recertify again (does not apply to all fields though).

Hello..although my background is in a different domain, yet i know that construction jobs pay good in North america, as long as you r able to secure a good job, which is not a easy thing.

My wife used to work for a Development company( construction is called development at some places) and her employer made good money along with the employees that worked for him.

You would need to get in touch with the right people before you make a move to understand the opportunities and skillset required
On a different note if you r making less money i would advise you to consider all options since you would be spending around 1 lac on the ticket alone for yourself and your spouse + expenses when you land in canada, good luck

Our culture withstood and assimilated vicious attacks from bloodthristy islamic philosophy for 1000 yrs and we are THE ONLY SURVIVING CULTURE that withstood and found a way (although somewhat unsuccessfully) to work with other religions and cultures.. Western countries tried it for past 3 decades and look at the problems they are having in France, Germany.. even here in Canada.. Whatever one says abt India.. no Indian muslim or christian or jew or parsi will even be called foreigner or \"alien\" in their own motherland.. we are the only beckon of secularism in entire non-western world. More importantly.. we are trying to walk right path.. we didn't kill millions of ppl like China did .. we didn't eliminated minorities like Pakistan and other countries did.. We didn't complain like americans over most unjust affermative action program in the world in the name of reservations..
India is progressing with its teeming millions of poor and agricultural.. we are strong and we are proud .. not becoz of our systems but in-spite of them and due to our culture and YES I'll say it.. our majority , tolerant, little faulty but very accomodating religion.. hinduism.. if you notice.. only places where democracy truely takes hold is where majority culture is tolerent and accomodating enough to give space to minorities of all sorts.. hence it blooms in India, western countries (where post-modern christianity is much similar to tolerant hinduism in India) ..
So BE PROUD.. we aren't the best country in the world.. YET..
but your kid has much better life , education, jobs available than you did.. and you had more than your father did.. and in my friend is so much betterr than other 4 billion ppl on this planet don't have.. Ask those women in Islamic societies.. or those aids striken villagers in Africa.. or those aboriginal tribals without any place, culture of their own in Australia.. We are much better than them.. and after 1000 yrs of shackles.. and just 50 yrs of corrupt democracy by cowardly Nehru family.. I say.. we as a society and culture are much better than a lot of other folks.. India is on the rise.. coz Hindu-Muslim, Northies-southies.. Punjus and gujus all.. are living togather.. without blowing each other.. trying to leave better India to our kids than one we found.. after all that's the essense of the society on the progress path..
