Friends recently I purchased a 2001 Honda Accord. My problem is that I was given only one set of Key. I have heard that I can not get these keys duplicated because there is a security code provided by Honda. If anybody knows please guide me how do I get additional keys, shall I contact a Honda dealer or should I approach Honda Canada directly. Your feedback will be of great help. Thanks

You can only get these made at Honda Dealer only. It has computer chip in it which act as immobilzer. One key should cost you around $100.00

Each honda car comes with 3 set of keys.
Two set of original keys and the third one is just for ignition (not usable for glove box or trunk, etc)
When you are going for duplicate copies, make sure that you get all these.

Thanks for the advise....I got the additional key from a honda dealer and they charged me 140 dollars including taxes (that was expensive.......). The dealer didnt tell me that I will not be able to use my remote starter after this as the key in remote starter has also to be programmed. The dealer asked whether I knew the location of the remote starter key in the Honda. I have no clue about it as the remote starter was installed by the first owner of the car.......Now I have another issue to tackle regarding this . Shall apprecxiate if you had a similar experience and how did you deal with it.

Check under dash board, you may be able to find a box. Key is installed in the box. If you are not able to locate it then go to any remote control installtion facility and ask him to check for you. The box should be around 6" X 4 ". You may also check in your glove box. Sometimes it is installed in it.

Which Honda Dealer you went to for the Key. Ideal Honda is charging $100+Tax and Formula Honda is charging $70+Tax for the programmed key.
