Fellow Desis,
Need help! I’m going to Montreal for some temp. work
Need to stay there for a month. Can you please advise any cheap/nice , hotels/motels to stay???
Please feel free to give any suggestions/ recommendations or your experiences

There are short term rentals but its still a guessing game what you mean by 'cheap/nice'
I would suggest using google and then shortlisting some results. If you seek help on the location(e.g proximity to subway/airport etc...as per your needs) of these results, I maybe in a position to give you my opinion(online or offline).

the Maritime Hotel comes to mind as a hotel which is centrally located, of good quality, yet with a good price. it is on Rene Levesque right downtown.
there are all the major chains all over the city and the cheap ones are in the east of the city, east of St. Denis.
The Old Port of MTL would be a very nice place to stay: quiet and scenic. I can't recall the names of any hotels here, though i know there are some.
there is also a bed and breakfast service known as Gite Montreal. you stay at someone's house and of course, it is very inexpensive.

They're for looking for apartments anywhere in MTL.
It doesn't answer the question, but it could be useful. Not sure where to file these sites though.
