When you rent an apartment, the buzzer at main entrance is connected to the phone line in the apartment.

Can you have VOIP phone running on high speed internet and the buzzer of the apartment be connected to that? Any idea?

I use a VOIP phone and am connected to the buzzer at my apartment building.

Whenever the buzzer is used, I see the rental management company’s phone number on my caller id, so I presume that their system is set up to make an outgoing call from the buzzer to my land phone.

The setup may not be the same at your apartment building, you could check with your rental management.

Hope this helps.

PS: I’m not necessarily the most technologically informed, so the notes above could have their limitations.

Thanks for your reply.

Seems it varies from building to building. Some buzzer systems can be set up to call any number including cellphone or VOIP phone and some cannot be!

If buzzer number of your appartment dials to your telephone line, it is like putting a tap to your telephone line. Right???

Folks, Reliance India Call is the best as far as quality and service is concerned. It is only 13 cents. Most importantly it is an Indian company and so we should all support.

How is Reliance India related to VOIP providers in Canada???

I know that Reliance India Call's service is good for most part except when they run into trouble with BSNL on interconnectivity issues.

The psychology of .9 and .99 seems to be working on some people at least! 13.9 cents + taxes do not become 13 cents.
