Yup I said, the guys who flunked are going to lift boxes..........that's what people do when they don't find any other jobs in Canada!

I said 10,000 failed.

BL,

It was not my intention to accuse a particular sect of people..but somehow reality popped out of my mind........

When I mentioned 90% of them would be of Asian Origin, I only wanted to highlight majority...........

Well, I'm sure you realize now that you were mistaken. The survey taken was of thousands of students, not a few. 90% of them can't be immigrants, unless of course you employ the argument that even the whites here are ultimately immigrants.

Quote:

Coming to your last point........that many of them would be "Canadian Citizens"..........In paper ..yes.....they have passport and citizenship card. But that neither hides their identity nor their natural traits.........

People of Indian origin will remain Indian for a couple of generations........because their brains worked well when their forefathers were in India and unless and until their kids are born and brought up in Canada and they get merged with the lifestyle, traditions and culture it will not change.........

Not sure what this has to do with anything. Are you saying that a good culture fosters intellect? Most recognized genuises that I know of were hardly people who always did what their parents told them to do.

And going back to your contention that ours is a superior culture and therefore we are better at Math, could you please show me examples of recent scientific innovations coming from India?? Which major inventions, discoveries or hypotheses came out from there recently that are likely to change the course of history or imply significant technological advancement for humanity?

I'm not looking for examples of Indians who do well in the states, because then that means that we need a "corrupted" culture to enhance our scientific or mathematical abilities, right? What does that tell you?

Quote:

By that time "The Good Old Soul" who migrated from India would not be there to impart the importance of education and family values.........and their grand kid at the age of 16 would tell his Dad of 2nd generation Indian that he wants be a "Dumpster" or wanna "flip the burger"........

I'm sorry, however that generalization is not worth responding to. Its the same thing as a Canadian visiting India and calling it a land of snake-charmers.

Quote:

At least Canada has something to learn from India..........Let some of them go to "Cotton Bishops" or "St Michaels Scool" to understand why do the students go to school...................

Quite right. Canada has a lot to learn from India. And India has a lot to learn from Canada. I'm very proud of my culture as an Indian. However like any other culture, its not perfect. There's pluses and minuses. Like your signature says, "you win some, you lose some". Exactly!

Quote:

When western people proudly talk about "Quantum Physics" and "Boolean Algebra" ....do they care what their children study at school????????

What do you mean? Are you saying that western parents don't care what their children study at school? FYI, a lot of them care a LOT about what their kids study. Just because they subsribe to a culture that may not be as conservative as ours does not mean they don't. Both things are unrelated.

And was it not the kid of "western parents" who came up with Quantum physics in the first place?

Even I feel I'm very lucky to have been born and brought up in India. I just don't feel the need to belittle others to glorify my culture. If an "original canadian" does that, I call him a racist. I feel the same way if an Indian does that.

Anyways, I feel I've been thru this drill several times before so I'll rest my case here. Maybe its best if we agree to disagree on this.
