I have an offer for a used Canon Camera
The spec. is:
Canon PowerShot S2 IS, 12X zoom, 5mp. In good working condition,
Used for an year
1GB memory card, AA battery charger. 4 AA 2500mAH Energizer batteries
Is it a good deal to buy it for CAD 250 ?
The "Canon PowerShot S2 IS" is a a great camera for a beginner/intermediate photographer. And should your creative urges dig deep into your wallet for shedding suds on a DSLR, it can still be a very nice backup camera.
See link below for some amazing captures with the canon:

Cheers and happy clicking!
The $250 sounds pretty good, because you're getting a lot of required extras. See how many photos have been taken - I believe Canons have an image numbering system that tells you how many photos have been taken with the camera.
I just purchased the S3 IS ($350 + taxes) and by and large, am very happy with it.
My only cons are - small (2.0" lcd screen; starts only at 36mm - would like more of a wide angle, without having to use converters.
Great photos out of the camera for us average users; little PP required.
Canon is the best among cameras. THe model 560 is on sale at bestby.ca. You wil get a 2GB sd card also. THe cost is $199.00 plus tax + case + charger (better to have one).
You can also go through the reviews on achabazar.com .
Yup, Canon is the best. I have a Canon SD660 or something I think.. the image quality is GREAT!
What happened to Nikon , Panasonic & Fuji ?
Canon may sell more but intelligent camera search will reveal that in the same price range and features there are other cams which beat it - check the following .
Nikon D40 SLR
Panasonic FZ50 and FZ8
Fuji S7000 & 9800
A worth mentioning tip - go for a cam which has got manual controls like aperture , shutter speed and preferably focusing - you will need it later .
