When should we get our passport back it was given in June 2011

This is re sponsorship application of my parents. My parent submitted passport, medicals and other required items end of June. I also paid right of landing fees. We are waiting to get the passports back with the PR inside. Do they generally take so long? My parents are asking me about what the status is. I am not sure how to answer or if there is something we should do?
Can you please share your own experience?

if you have paid ROL fees alongwith the passport submission then wait time is atleast 3 months. CIC generally takes 3 months to process ROL fees....funny, but this is truth.
Did you check if high commission actually got it in mail
michelle288...did u get pp back. i also submitted pp and medical back in june 2011 but since then no news...
folks, can anyone tell how long it takes to get passport back with PR...everything including ROL was submitted more than 5 months ago...but no further news from high commission. online status has also not changed. still shows in process...

Just send a PHOTO copy of payment receipt to your parents and ask them to send to high commission along with a short formal note stating that "Landing Fees have been paid and they would like to submit payment receipt copy for updates". If PR were on hold for Landing Fees Payment confirmation, this trick will work 99%.
