Hello,
I stayed in Windsor as PR for more than 3 years and thereafter I applied for Canadian Citizenship in May 2008. In July 2008, I got my US Green Card as I was working in Detroit on H1B visa and daily commuting to job.
After getting my US Green Card in July 2008, I moved to Detroit from Windsor.
Now I have my Citizenship Written Test day after tomorrow in Windsor, please suggest me what kind of documents should I take with me and any other guidance would also be appreciated.
Thanks,
Anurag

yes that's right...your invitation letter for test(yellow paper) very specifically tells what documents to bring.....I would still suggest all passports, all documenst related to entry/leaving country....prepare as you would for an immigration interview.....make sure you take proper ID's(passport. driving Lic., health card), i have seen so many people struggling for that at the test centre.
Good luck

Hi Guys,
I went to Windsor from Detroit and gave the Canadian Citizenship written exam yesterday. Things went well, and I was worried because of my current living in USA on Green Card (which I got after applying for Canadian Citizenship, and I moved to USA from Canada after getting my US Green Card).
I applied for my Canadian Citizenship in May 2008 and I got my US Green Card in July 2008. I moved to USA in July 2008 and I got my Citizenship Exam on 21st Jan 2009.
My concerns are as below:
1. I am still using my friend’s address in Canada for the Citizenship Communication purposes, but I am living in USA to maintain my US Green Card.
2. I did not mention in my Canadian Citizenship Exam that I have moved to USA.
3. I have not informed US authorities that I have applied for Canadian Citizenship.
My questions are:
- Will my US Green Card in USA get affected, if I take the oath and become Canadian Citizen? As I was Indian Citizen while I got my US Green Card and this information should be with the US Immigration Authorities. Would this status change haunt me in future while applying for US Citizenship (dual) or maintaining US Green Card for next five years?
Please give me your thoughtful and practical suggestions and guidance.
Thanks,
Anurag
