I love Toronto
Its been a week since we moved here and so far we are loving it. It is nice to be in a ethnically and culturally diverse place with good food. I think we will miss California weather but will draw some comfort from affordable horsing and lower cost of living
First week was pretty hectic. We drove around city. I love the Forest Hill's area and wouldn't mind a small stone and brick mansion there
My wife interviewed with couple of big-4 accounting firms and landed a job. Now that both of us will be working, next task is to find a nanny/babysitter for our 2 years old monster (a cute one though) and a place to rent. We are looking in/around Mississauga area.
Applied for SIN and found out that it takes 4-5 weeks to get it but if you have a job offer you can present it and get your SIN card/number the same day.
I don't know about your place of work. But area near square one is a good place to live. Check aprtments in webb drive area. 2 BR should be around 1500 per month. You can get a good filipino nany for 1400-1500 per month.

Welcome to our city junooni! Hopefully you won't have to endure too much of this weather and the summer here is fabulous.
And please, no "horsing around".

Are you there?
Hi,
Try Hillcrest. These condos are just located next to GO station. If you are looking for newer accomodation, Elm Drive and Duke of York are fairly nice. Duke actually offers shuttle service to the GO station. And don't be afraid of moving closer to square one. Public Transit takes only a 5 minutes to the GO station from there and the service is very frequent.
Pickup mississauga transit schedule from their Square One bus station and check if that could be an option you could look at.

Welcome to Mississauga / GTA
Congratulations to your wife....and all the best
As suggested by Rajeev Narula....we also live in one of the condos @ Hillcrest...just next to Cooksville Go Stn.....very nice place to live.....much better than the area near Lakeshore/Clarkson Go....I used to work in d/town and train from Cookville takes around 22-25 mins to reach Union Stn.....Mississauga transit also has couple of Shuttle Services during peak hrs from both directions of Hwy 10 to go to Coosville Go stn according to train times...do check it out....but Hillcrest is really neat
